Pop Tabs For A Good Cause
Mountain Ridge Student Council is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. The proceeds from the pop tabs will be used to fund donations for the Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown at the end of the year. The pop tabs can be put in the designated boxes in the main lobby and bus lobby. Let’s see what the generous students of Mountain Ridge can raise for this great cause!
Off To Disney!
The Mountain Ridge Jazz Orchestra and Concert Choir are going to Disney on November 23rd through the 30th. The groups have been selected to play in two prestigious events. The Choir will perform at the Candlelight Processional with the special guest, Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. The Jazz Orchestra is going to be playing in Downtown Disney for a live audience. The Choir and Jazz Orchestra are very excited to share their talents with others and get the chance to improve their skills with other groups.
Three Hour Delays
Because of the number of snow days ACPS has experienced over the last few years, especially in the Mountain Ridge school district, ACPS has adopted a 3-hour delay schedule which may be used this year as needed. ACPS has scheduled a 3-hour delay on February 27, 2015 which will be for professional development for secondary teachers.
Students on an abbreviated schedule need to be aware that all seven periods will be scheduled on any delay schedule and the schedule will not rotate this year. On a 3-hour delay schedule, all periods except 5th period will be 15 minutes long. Attendance is required.
