Baseball Game Cancelled
The varsity baseball game scheduled for today, March 28th with Hyndman has been cancelled. The make-up date for the game will be on Tuesday, April 25 at 4:30.

Tennis Matched Postponed
The Mountain Ridge vs Southern tennis match that was scheduled for today March 28th, will be rescheduled for Tuesday, April 11 at Mountain Ridge at 4:00 pm.

Schedule for all Spring Sports Photos
G&G photography will be in the stadium on the morning of March 29, 2017 to take spring teams/group photos.
The schedule is as follows:

8:00 A.M. to the Stadium

Softball

8:15 A.M. to the Softball Field

Baseball

8:30 A.M. to the Baseball Field

Application packets for the James E. Clark, Jr. Memorial Scholarship are now available in the Guidance Office. Any interested senior athlete should complete the application and return it to Mrs. Blank by NO LATER than Friday, April 14. ECHO Representative
Attention all students interested in a career in Health Care or Medicine a representative from the ECHO Exploring Careers in Health Occupations, will be here Wednesday morning, March 29, at 8:40 am., to present a program about their summer activities. This will be held in the auditorium, and all who are interested in this wonderful opportunity are welcome to attend. For more details, please see Mr. Eisel in the Guidance office.

Varsity Softball Game
Please excuse the varsity softball team today, March 27th, at 1:25.

Attention Seniors!
This is a friendly message to remind you to get your service learning hours turned in as soon as possible.
All service learning hours for seniors will be due around the end of April so don’t wait until the last minute to get them turned in.  Tell your senior friends who might not be here first thing in the morning to hear this announcement.
If you have any questions or need any forms, please see Mrs. Goodwin in room 312.  So far, we have only six seniors who have submitted enough hours to earn the Service Learning Medallion at graduation.

New Scholarship
A new scholarship has arrived in the Guidance Office. The Rotary Club of Cumberland Scholarship is available to any graduating senior form Mountain Ridge High School, as well as the other local high schools. You may pick up your application in the Guidance Office. Please return all completed materials to Mrs. Blank by no later than Friday, April 7. Relatives of Rotarians are not eligible.

Attention Seniors
Are you ready to think about Graduation?  Well, the time has come to determine the student speaker! Interested?  Seniors must submit written speeches to Dr. Marchbank no later than Wednesday, April 12.  The written speech must have the following specifications:

  1. Should be three to five minutes in length
  2. Should be typed, double-spaced, with the writer’s name appearing on the top right hand corner
  3. Should emit a positive tone
  4. Can be retrospective or looking toward the future or a combination of the two

Diamond Tryouts
Diamonds Tryout will begin April 4th. Anyone interested in trying out should see Ms. Kenney in room 237 for a form.

Mindy VanPelt Memorial Scholarship
The Mindy VanPelt Memorial Scholarship is now available in the main office. Any senior who has played a sport during his or her junior and senior years, has a 2.5 GPA or higher and is planning on attending a college or university may apply for this award. Applications may be picked up in the main office. Deadline is April 7th.

Annual Fifty Shades of Frostburg
On April 8th, the 1st Annual Fifty Shades of Frostburg 5k is being held. All proceeds will go to the Frostburg Police Department. The organization is looking for volunteers to help on race day. Students can earn service learning hours for helping out on race day. Students can earn learning hours for helping out at this event.
