By this time most of you have applied to colleges, but some have not and should start the process as soon as possible.  Let me know when transcripts are to be sent.
Also, if you are working on the scholarships for Allegany College bring them to me and I will make copies and forward them to AC.    Please bring in any letters received from colleges stating scholarships.  They do not have to be the college you are attending.

Mid-term reports are to be sent out after the 1st semester so make sure that I have  copies and information as to where each should be sent.

SCHOLARSHIPS

KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program
            $5,000/year, pursuing a bachelor’s degree, US citizen
            The online application will be available from December 1, 2010 through February 10, 2012

            Maryland High School student
            First-generation college student
            Will attend a Maryland college
            Major in a medical-related field

Angie Houtz Memorial Scholarship
            Cumulative grade point average 3.0-4.0
            Going to attend a public two or four-year college in Maryland full-time
            Must have participated in at least 200 hours of community service
                        In the last 5 years

The Sam Walton Community Scholarship
            Deadline:  Applications available beginning November 1, 2011
            Criteria:  Senior, U.S. Citizen or permanent legal resident, 2.5 GPA, financial need, academic record, school and community activities, and leadership, cannot work for Wal-Mart, nor be a dependent of a Wal-Mart employee.

Walton Family Foundation Scholarship
            Deadline:  Applications available beginning November 1, 2011
            Criteria:  Senior, U.S. Citizen or permanent legal resident, achieved at least 22 Composite ACT or 1030 SAT scores, 2.5 GPA, financial need, academic record, school and community activities, leadership ability, dependent of a full-time Wal-Mart employee.
